Marinara Pasta Sauce
This recipe makes a LOT! Depending on how much sauce you use, you can get about 3 or 4 dishes out of it.
~Marinara Sauce/Pasta Sauce~
2 to 3 tablespoons Extra Virgina Olive Oil (EVOO)
2 to 3 tablespoons of fresh crushed garlic
1-6 POUND Can of Peeled Tomatoes
2 to 3 tablespoons of Salt
2 to 3 tablespoons of Basil
2 to 3 tablespoons pepper
2 to 3 tablespoons of crushed red pepper.
(All of the above seasoning are just approximate. You can add to or take away just depending on what you like)
Directions:
Use the BIGGEST pot that you can find.
Add Garlic and EVOO to the pot. Do NOT burn the garlic only fry them up until you smell the garlic.
Then add the Tomatoes and seasonings. Take a masher and mash the tomatoes up in the pot along with the seasoning. Get it all good and mashed up.
Bring to a boil and then let simmer for an hour to hour and a half.
You can store this in individual containers until ready. I use the 20 ounce containers.
You can always add Basil and Oregano and your own seasoning. This is a great sauce for spaghetti, Baked Ziti, etc.
Give it and try and let me know in comments how you like it.
